Dance Team Information:
Junior Dance Team
The junior dance teams consist of girls ages 5-16, and are broken out into the following groups:
Starlets – K-1st Grade, 2nd – 3rd Grade & 4th – 6th Grade
Starz Stompers Boys – 12 years and up
Lady Starz Girls – 12 years and up
Note: The dance teams are by invitation or by tryouts and are typically held in the spring.
What will my dancer gain from being involved in a junior dance team?
Dance team provides opportunities for dancers to perform for live and varied audiences throughout the year. (Previous performances: Harambee Festival, City of Dallas Health Fair, Radio Disney, Love for Kids, Pepsi KidsFest, City of Dallas Parades, and others.)
Dance team offers a well-rounded dance education. The dancers receive training in ballet, body control, rhythm, kicks, jazz, drill-down commands, lyrical, and showmanship. The dancers also learn the value of unity, self-discipline, poise, commitment, and confidence. The disciplined training mixed with praise contributes to a successful performing dance team.
Dance team prepares your dancer for high school drill team or cheerleading. The Lady Starz and Starz Stompers dance teams get the opportunity to compete in one to two different dance competitions. (Previously attended competitions: Spotlight Dance Cup and International Dance Challenge Show Stopper & Show Biz.) There is a considerable amount of competition for dancers who are trying out for high school drill teams and cheerleading. Being a member of a junior dance team will give your dancer the edge.
What type of commitment is involved for the parents and the dancers?
Starlets
All members of the dance teams commit to attend two scheduled classes a week and performances for the duration of the recital.

Starz Stompers

Parents of Junior Dance Team Members

Adult Stretch & Tone
Stretch & Tone classes are based on exercises designed to stretch and lengthen your muscles. These non-impact classes are not ‘aerobic', which means that participants will not need to engage in vigorous movements.
This exercise is highly suitable for those who have not been exercising regularly, and for those recovering from illness or surgery. It is also useful for those already involved in intensive activity and who want to ensure their continued flexibility and strength in their chosen aerobic activities. Stretch & Tone exercises can help participants regain their strength and ready them for return to, or beginning of, more intense activity.
The Benefits of Stretch & Tone
You can increase your flexibility and the range of motion in your joints; improve your overall coordination; reduce stress and release tension; strengthen your posture; improve your balance; create long, lean muscles through gentle stretching and toning; and prevent strain, injury and joint pain.
Dance Classes
Dancers receive quality dance instruction while having fun. We offer a positive learning environment encouragement along with constructive criticism. We instill Poise, Self-Confidence and fun to last a life time.
Private lessons are also available!
